LIMB LFTR – Boombahton
Seattle’s, LIMB LFTR, is coming with some super funky moombahton for ya today! This track is really weird…in a good way…like Portland weird. It’s strange, but it all makes sense. I’m really digging the digital vibe Boombahton carries with it’s high pitched bleeps and bloops, while at the same time allowing a little tribal energy to shine through with the bongos and congas. I can see myself in a far away futuristic metal moombahton jungle on some far away planet in some unknown galaxy when I listen to Boombahton. Enjoy!
Tony Goods – That’s Paper
Tony Goods has definitely been putting in work when it comes to his music. His new track, That’s Paper, has been getting some heavy play throughout his parties the last couple months, and now it is time for the rest of the world to hear this club banger. I don’t know where to begin trying to categorize That’s Paper…all I can say is…it SMACKS. Hard. Japanese label, Proper Pedigree Collective must be super stoked to be releasing such an original sounding, high energy track, from Tony Goods. HOOD PRI$M$ – Light Me Up
The Portland Trap scene is goin’ hard as hell right now! With Trap funeral going absolutely bonkers once a month there is a lot of buzz about this “new” sub-genre through the city. While there is always a surplus of talent passing through the small North West city, Portland is also home to many trap/bass music artists such as Tyler Tastemaker, Quarry, Gang$ign$, Tony Goods, and last but not least HOOD PRI$IM$. Being made up of EXODUB & TIGER FRESH, this duo, HOOD PRI$IM$ has got some serious sounds they’re playing with. Their single Light Me Up is a real smooth trapped out tune that’s got some crazy arpeggiator action going on throughout the whole song. Along with some nice spacey bleep/bloops to keep your feet moving and your mind entertained, this song is a reminder that you are NOT on planet Earth. Blast off!!
Keyboard Kid – Don’t Leave Basedworld //// Noah Calhoun
Last time we spoke about the very rare and talented North West Based producer, Keyboard Kid, he had just released his album #RARE DROPS FROM THE SUN, which was a huge release for him halfway through December, 2012. Since then has been hard at work in the studio and recently released TWO new albums. The first one I’d like to present is called DON’T LEAVE BASEDWORLD. This is a 27 track album compiled of really smooth, atmospheric, beats that ultimately touch on the mellower side of Basedworld and leave you feeling nicely chilled out. My favorite track off this album would have to be Corpse Bride. This track opens up with a ghostly female voice nicely chopped up, and then the beat promptly drops in, perfectly fitting right behind the sample. What really left a footprint of Corpse Bride in my memory is the heavy bass line that’s got such an old school analog sound to it. It’s downright dirty. Check it out, you’ll know just what I’m talking about.

Next up is Keyboard Kid’s latest album (released 12/1/13) Noah Calhoun. While DON’T LEAVE BASEDWORLD carried a darker tone throughout the entirety of the album, Noah Calhoun is the opposite of that. I’d call this an album of purely inspirational beats. Each track makes me feel like I could climb a mountain…like I could sail around the world tomorrow…like I could win the Olympics with no training…It makes feel like Noah Calhoun.
